Our offices are situated on the first floor of this building, built in 1902 as part of the Crampton & Sons printing works, which closed in the late 1990s. It is in the Sawston Conservation Area, opposite the stone War Memorial on Church Lane.
I confess that the stone lintels and pilasters on the Dutch gable seduced me into taking the lease on these premises; I hope some of the early 20th century charm of this building will help to inspire our work (but not our IT or telecoms, please!).
There is ample parking to the rear, off Portobello Lane, and access to and from Cambridge by car, bus or of course bicycle is convenient. Visitors are welcome, by appointment.
We are a small practice based in Cambridgeshire, serving property owners, developers and construction professionals from North London to South Lincolnshire.
Charles Tallack Engineering Consultancy was formed by the takeover of Allan Baldry & Associates in 2003 and continues in the tradition which has built up a loyal group of satisfied clients over 20 years.
Our qualified engineers draw on a wide range of experience in disciplines including civil and mechanical, as well as structural engineering.
Importantly, we maintain full Professional Indemnity Insurance cover for all projects, giving added security that risks are minimised and the standard of our work is guaranteed.
We aim to provide straightforward, cost-effective and friendly expertise to ensure that your construction project delivers long term reliability with value for money.
Our good reputation with architects, contractors, clients and Building Inspectors is the result of this care and attention to detail, and is vitally important to us.
